i just read a write up and have a basic question:
why do you spray brake cleaner on the gear and inside on the diff cover?

The brake cleaner cleans out the old lube and any sediment that may be lingering.

I installed the SOLID covers today ...... I used the lubelocker gaskets @ $16 per axle ( but are reusable numerous times )...... I also took the time to use Lucas synthetic for Gear lube @ 15 / qt and 5 qts for both axles ( it has the limited slip additive in it ) !!!!!

They look SSSSSWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTT !!!!!!

My reasoning for going with Riddler covers as opposed to a cage or plate is that I do alot of my offroading through fields overgrown with weeds and cages and skidplates are just another place for the crap to build up, and then need to be cleaned.
