nope. You may need a new carrier for the front though depending on your current ratio.

I dont thinks so, but I would change the diff covers anyway. The stock ones are pretty flimsy and have a tendency to get damaged easily. Mine rear one was damaged when I slid over a rock. The cover hung over and got pulled across the rock, damaging the lip and causing a leak. If you dont get new ones, at least get a diff guard and file around the cover if it sticks out from the pumpkin so it is flush.

Diff covers are cheap insurance for some very expensive parts.

really depends on what his jeep is used for. is there a lot of rocks in VA? diff covers are sure a lot cheaper than new axles. they are cheap insurance like said above.

thanks for the info. the reason i'm not currently changing is because the initial cost of the gears, install kits, detroit locker for the rear and aussie locker for the front has taken it's toll on the 'ol wallet for now. my next mod is looking like the warrior safari rack, that thing is sweeeeet.

my first reaction is are you kidding me, but i guess it's whether he drives east or west from Mechanicsville, west means rocks
type Crozet VA into you tube, and you haven't even hit the Blue Ridge there.

yeah, if i drive east, i don't think the sand on hatteras island is going to do much damage as the rocks on the way to crabtree falls or some of the other fire trails in the mountains.

sorry, I don't know anything about terrain in VA. Or what type of wheeling (if any) that the OP is into. After seeing that he is adding an aussie, and a detroit maybe he should gets some covers.
