Default Diff skid plate question...

Has anyone installed the Warn (or any other) diff skid plates? I am wondering if all the oil gushes out when you remove the bolts to mount them? I want to install them, but I am holding off on buying new oil for the diff. Hopefully the seal holds it in???

We installed these differential guards on my JK. Oil did not come out of the rear, but it did come out (small amount) of the front, so we had to drain the oil and re-do the RTV gasket on the front. Since the install, we have noticed that the rear seems to be seeping just a bit--not enough to drip onto the ground, but enough that we are planning on re-doing the RTV at some point, or we may give a Lubelocker a try.

I put the Warn diff skid on and lost 2 drops through the bolt hole, that was it. This is a very simple install.

I tried a similar one and it leaked. Pissed me off so I sent it back. Had a serious issue with some landscaping at a local chain store and ended up having to replace my diff cover with Solids and LubeLockrs. If you get one, plan on a leak and if it doesn't, walk away whistlin'. You're ready for the diff lube change a ways down the road.
