Different soft tops??
Did a few searches, but I couldn't find anything on this company. If there have been previous threads about this, then I obviously need to get better at using "advanced search".
I saw an ad in a magazine for a company called Offroad Heros. They seem to offer a couple different type of "fastback" style soft tops for the JK.
The price point looks quite reasonable, and I like the concept.
Does anyone have any feedback to offer about their customer service, build quality, or workmanship?
I'm in the market for a softop (My JK came from the factory with only a hard top), and I'm leaning towards either the Trektop or something from Offroad Heros. I prefer the look over the factory soft top (and the price!)

WARNING: BUYER BEWARE
The manufacturer of this product is believed to be a Canadian based company called Californiatops. This conclusion was determined by doing research online and by what the author of this post eventually stated in his post here.
Californiatops is a company that has a long history of questionable business practices and they have been banned from eBay and PayPal. This has been documented by the Ripoff Report and can be verified by doing a simple Google search or a search on forums such as JeepsUnlimited.com and RubiconOwners.com. More recently, a member here had purchased a thermal liner from this company while they were still going under the name coloradojeepman and his experience with them can be found here.
I have personally tried contacting this company to acquire a phone number and/or physical address for their stated location in Florida just in case the information I had about them was erroneous and my inquiries were met with hostility and my questions went unanswered. Needless to say, it is our opinion that this company has questionable business practices and would advise against purchasing any of their products.

Thank you for the info. I've heard of the California Tops saga, but had not seen any info connecting "Offroad Heros" with them.
Just like you, I find it a little bit disconcerting that they list no postal adress or phone number on their web site. I live in Calgary, only about 200 miles south of Edmonton...but that doesn't chage the fact that I'd rather spend a few extra dollars getting a quality product from a company that stands behind their work than buy from the shady guy on the street corner.
I'm not one to discount a small local businessperson (support your local entrepreneurs whenever you can) based on one person's word on the internet. That said, I'd have to do a lot of homework before I could begin to feel comfortable buying from this person. My instinct tells me that the more homework I do, the less likely the purchase would be.
The Trektop is certainly something that I'm considering. Bestop certainly has a lot lose if they were to start hosing their customer base.

Actually, this brings me to another question...
If I purchase a Trektop, does anyone know if the "door molding" type pieces that come with it will mate with a bikini top?
I like the idea of the bikini top/duster combo, but given that I don't have the factory soft top moldings, that would result in some very wet arms while driving back from the trails during the frequent foothills brand afternoon thunderstorms.
The less cover, the better...but my girlfriend and the little one aren't quite as hardy as I am when it comes to staying cheerful when soaked. I want off-roading to be as pleasant an experience as possible for them. The more they like it, the more likely they are to join me on the trails.
