Default Differential Fluid

Any suggestions/ recommendations for gear oil? Dana 44 axles with 4.10 ratio (stock Rubicon axles), 35" tires if it matters. I also live in Needles, CA, one of the hottest areas in the US if not world and it's a daily driver. The offroading I do involves minimal mild to moderate rock crawling (usually only if there's something on the other side I want to see), some sand (on/ off the beach), lots of desert trails.

I always used 75W90, typically a synthetic. I don't think there's any real benefit paying up for super pricey gear oil though; however, that is just my opinion.

Def go with synthetic. Any brand. I used valvoline in mine starting at 4500 miles. Traded it at 108000 and it still ran like new, even though I occasionally towed a 4000-5000 pound trailer.

IMO .. cannot go wrong with the OEM Synthetic Gear Lube..75W-90... Use the parts that are engineered by the people that engineered the JEEP.

I see a lot of 75w-90, but JEEP actually suggests 80w-90, is there a reason for the difference? I know it's not a huge one, but still wondering.

If you tow, they recommend a higher viscosity. I forget what but maybe 75/140.
