Diveline vibration
I finally got gears (4:88) and lockers (ARB) put in today, but discovered while driving home I had a significant vibration a 60 mph. After taking it back to the gear shop were it was installed, we determined it was one of the drive shafts. This was further confirmed with removal of the rear dive shaft and driving it around with no vibration occuring. But did I just isloate the rearend from the rest of the drivetrain therefore islotaing the vibration? One concern I had was the ARB installed in the rear was for 3.73 and DN. It came with the Super 44 kit from Quadratec. Is this the wrong ARB for the 4.88s?
I know that there have been other posts on this issue from both TCODTJ and WVHASTY, but neither of the posts have provided final resolutions.
The rear shaft is a Tom Woods.
Thanks

I have a RE 3.5" LA kit with JE Reel drive shafts front and rear, stock Rubicon gears and lockers and 35's and I get driveline vibes from 50-70mph' above and below those speeds its not there. The only thing I can think of is to have the drive shafts rebalanced, for now i just deal with it and do 75 on the highway so that I dont have to deal with it haha!
I have a slight vibe between 40-45 mph. Before the gears it used to be at 60-65 mph, so I am pretty sure it is a drive shaft vibe. I have had the shaft balanced twice. I am conviced that some vibe is going to occur due to the inability to set the pinion angle even with the driveshaft itself (similar to the rear where castor is not an issue). Too much castor and vibes increase. Too little and the jeep is too flighty in its steering. I am currently at 4.5 - 5 degrees of castor. I really don't know if what i am saying is totally correct, but it was built off the input from those on this sight that know, and my own endless adjustment to control arms and driveshaft attention.

The J.E. 1310 series heavy duty rear driveshaft upgrades your driveline to accommodate the stress of larger tires. Designed to be used on JK’s running tires larger than 36" for off-road use.
they do not state for on road use, hmmmm

edit: sorry wasnt tryin to be smartbutt, i know people who carry seperate shafts for on road use and off road use.

In speaking with the folks at JE Reel, they are confident that their drive shafts will run smooth and without vibrations. For lifts greater than 3 inches, they say they try to sway people toward the 1310 HD and away from their OEM replacement shafts with the direct fit flanges.
Thanks for the feed back.
I had the driveshaft taken to the shop to get blanced only to find out it is beyond balancing due to mutiple problems: bent, bad cv joint and other issues. I figured as much since I broke it once already over a year ago, I guess the qualified spicer reapir shop was not as qualified as they thought. Tom woods covered that repair, but I will probbaly go with the JE Reel Drive shaft.

The ARB you have should be correct for the JK Dana 44. Did you do a proper break in for the gears before you hit 60 MPH? Also, did they adjust the rear pinion angle with adjustable rear upper control arms?

The Skyjacker 5" as been on the jeep since I got it two years ago and it does not have adjsutable control arms. The pinion angle is off a little so I will also be putting adjustable control arms on the back to get the pinion lined up as well as a new driveshaft and see what happens.
I know that some have come to accept the vibration, but vibration will only lead to premature failure of somthing in the rear drivetrain later on.
My 92 does not have vibration and has more lift and a shorter shaft than my 08
