Do I have to use the dust cover off the stock flange on my new Yoke?

I have already installed my new drive shafts and I did not use the dust cover off the rear flange on the new yoke.

I have seen recently where some folks are using it, is this a must?

No, you don't use it, in fact it'll usually rattle if you do
