Got the perferared steel from work.. Still had to pay for it, I bought half a sheet, gonna bolt the extra to the inside of the gate.to hang and strap stuff to.

I'm all for home mods, but by the time you buy all the parts you'll need it won't be that much cheaper than the RR grille. And that one guarantees success, and is solid.

I would say go the Personal Grill Mod. It's much more satisfying when you can look at your Jeep and say "I built that" instead of "I bought those little things when I could have easily made them for less".
