Default Do I Need Rear Control Arms?

I know that at some point in the past I have seen this topic discussed, but I cannot find it.

I have a 3.25" lift and a couple of weeks ago I went to a tire that is slightly larger. I can see that the new tires will make contact with my Rubicon rock rails when flexing. I still have the stock control arms which has worked fine up until now. Would rear control arms be what I need to relocate the rear axle to stock position, or should I just trim the rock rails and pinch seam to prevent the tire from rubbing them?

Trimming the pinch seam and rubi rails is free. You would need both upper and lower arms to move the axle back, which really isn't needed with a 4door. So trimming gets my vote.

If/when you swap out the rear driveshaft for a double cardan you will want upper arms, though.

X2... I trimmed my rails and pinch seam and I've got no rubbing in the rear while flexing...

I have rear uppers and lowers and have them dialed in to Teraflex's specs and I have no rubbing on the pinch seam with my 3" and 35s.

I used Planmans recommendations and my 37s at full stuff have no rub at all.
