do I need to regear?
It's a hefty price to re-gear. I would drive it first and see what you think before jumping in and paying. If you like how your Jeep drives now then your going to want to re-gear. It isn't mentioned a lot but if you start adding steel bumpers and a winch that also sucks the performance out of your ride. Here is some math equations to help you out.
Old Tire size / New Tire Size x Original Ratio = New Effective Gear Ratio
For instance I have
32 / 35 x 4.10 = 3.74. If I wanted CLOSE to stock performance I would go with 4.88. (I have a Manual)

Unfortunately, when I found the JK that had every option on it that I wanted, I realized that it had the 3.21 gears instead of the 4.10s. I went ahead and bought it figuring that I could change them easier than I could spend more months looking for the exact JK that I wanted.
I have since added the lift and the 35s and I must say that I have been pleasantly surprised. Obviously I won't be outrunning any sports cars between red lights but for around town and short trip driving it is perfectly acceptable.
I did take one 650 mile round trip soon after adding the tires and for interstate driving purposes I have essentially lost 6th gear. But, I could still maintain 75-80 in fifth and did so at a little under 2500 RPM. IMO, unless you will do A LOT of interstate driving or just really plan on giving it HELL off road, I think the gears are overkill and a waste of money.

okay ... yeah. I am not doing it yet. I am waiting on it to see how it drives on road and off, wet and dry .. every condition or cloes to it before I make my decision. Yes I know its alot .. and I have already dropped a lot into my JK .. and I still don't have my bumpers yet .. thats all I am adding ...
so right now .. the gears are still stock! OMG
IT SUCKS ... driving anywhere .... ahhh
I can't accelerate, I go up to 2500- 2800 RPM before I can switch gears ... and I can only go to 4th .. sometimes 5th on the freeway .. but thats only if I want to do 50 mph ... in a 60
so 5.13's or 4.88s. I want to get 37's when it hits summer and i can get into rockcrawling

I just got my 5.13's and locker in the rear w/37". It did help quite a bit and the crawl ratio is going to be great. I do have to break them in for about 500 miles or so. I am very happy though........I do notice that with a 6speed first gear is really low now. I can even start out in 2nd if need be........
