Does anyone know what bumber this is?
4wheel parts is selling the Pure Jeep stuff. i just got there catalog. it's all in there new products pages.
i wont purchase anything from $wheel Parts. they are way over priced. i went in there to get something out of there catalog, they told me it was 50.00 more than what it said in there catalog. they would not even honor there own catalog. i even asked if it was a typo in there catalog. and they said no. never ever will i buy from them. i'll support the vendors on the froum not them.
I had a shittybilt on my TJ... I don't think I will buy their products again. I do agree that they make some great looking stuff. That bumper looks awesome on JPtwinz (I think thats right) jeep. If they had as good of quality as they do looks I would buy their products... but the chineese stuff they sell is kinda dinky and finished poorly.
As far as I'm concerned Smittybuilt is an alternative spelling for sh** and they, and their Chinese products, will never get a dollar fom me again. I don't give a dang about how "cool" or "tough" they look.
Yup, that's my bumper. I stand behind Smittybilt as an alternative to the other brands if you want a balance of expense and function. Here's my response (as posted in another thread) regarding my OPINON of this Smittybilt XRC bumper (not for any of their other products as I don't have first hand experience with anything else, except for maybe the rear XRC bumper as well). Also, here's the installation of that bumper (where the OP's pic came from)....

I had some scratches on mine when I picked it up at the 4x4 shop and I made them order me a new one because I wanted to be the one who scrached it (later found out it was opened as a floor demo and that's where the scratches came from).
Other than that I have had ZERO problems/issues as described by the OP. I am carrying a 40x15.50R20 tire on it which has got to be one of the heaviest tires anyone else on here is running on any other brand of carrier. This thing carried my tire along a nearly seven hour washboard/rock road on our last local Jeep run and I could barely hear it rattle. In fact, I lost a d-ring shackle on the trip (from vibrating the bolt loose) but not one of my bumper bolts was loose when I checked them after I got home. I think alot of people diss on Smittybilt because of 2nd hand knowledge. Or they may have had a problem with another Smittybilt product and not necessarily the product in debate.
Either way you do get what you pay for. There is no question in my mind that other brands of bumpers - LOD, Hanson, Teraflex, etc are top of the line and provide alot of flexibility (extra features, bolt on accessories, etc) over the Smittybilt XRC bumper, but the XRC is a darn GREAT bumper for its cost.
If anyone is local, come check out my set-up first hand and see what I mean. In fact, Camp Crocker was side by side with me in Yellow Jacket (sporting very nice LOD bumpers) and we both got as many compliments in the looks department. And hopefully my 1st hand experience with it on the trail is proof to some of its functionality and quality aspects.

I bought my TJ used and it had the smittybilt tube bumpers front and rear. I hated the way they looked, and they got a little beat up from wheeling so I gave them away for free. I bought the Smittybilt SRC bumpers. I thought they looked great, and thought with how heavy that front was I would be protected from anything. I was wrong. I BUMPED a 2" around tree on the trail at like 5mph and it bent it all the way into the body of my Jeep. it also took off a chunk of the finish. Maybe I just got a few defective pieces of an otherwise quality product... but I will not buy anything else from them to find out. The tube bumpers on my Jeep when I bought it may have been older, but I got the SRC less than 2 years ago. Maybe smittybilt is under new ownership since 2 years ago, and maybe the JK stuff is built better. I dunno.
I think the bumpers on JPTwinz look amazing. Looks wise I would rate it up there with some of the better looking bumpers like LOD or Shrockworks. My SRC bumper looked great too. As I get older, I care more about how my Jeep works more than how it looks. Don't get me wrong, I love having my jeep look good... but bumpers that bend and break and rust from losing their paint or coating do not look good to me. If smittybilt spent as much effort on quality as it did looks I would only run them.
My PureJeep bumper may not look as good as a smittybilt, but I know it is 100 times tougher. All just my opinion. Like JPTwinz said I have not owned the XRC bumper for the JK. The build quality may have improved since I bought the SRC less than 2 years ago, and I may be comparing apples and oranges. I say if you don't offroad or get in wrecks or anything, get the smittybilt cause the price and looks is great.
Sorry if I offended you man, I think your Jeep looks amazing. I should clarify my statement. Those bumpers look really great on there too. I have not owned any smittybilt stuff on my JK (and I wont most likely) because of my experience with my TJ.

In an earlier thread, after I first got my bumper, I thought the LOD, Hanson, Shrockworks, etc were more name than anything. But after seeing them 1st hand as well as understanding the scope of the features you can't get on the XRC line, my mind changed to realize they are VERY good bumpers and if you need those features, they also become worth the extra $.
