Default Does intake help?

I was gonna pick up a used intake and see if it helps out with power at all. Am i wasting my time and money? is there any intake better than the other? k&n, s&b, volant? any others i should look at?

If you do a search on the forum for cold air intakes you will find all sorts of opinions. Personally I believe that they do increase power slightly but the fuel economy suffers so you need to decide what you are really looking for, economy, power, lower noise from the intake etc.

I put a K&N air filter in the stock air box. I like the sealed approach

I've got an Airaid on mine. Gives the 3.8 a little more oomph and increased fuel economy a bit... Plus it makes the engine sound like one that belongs on a Jeep An exhaust helps everything as well

My Airaid has given a nice little boost in the dead spot common with the automatic, beyond that don't expect any miracles. I haven't noticed any of the MPG improvement that others claim. If I were going to do it right now, I would get the new AEM drop in filter.
