Drill a small hole at the base of the mirror where it mounts to the door to allow water to drain out.

Do I drill the bottom of the mirror itself or do i drill the bottom of the mount? and if you have pics that would be good too.

thanks

The bottom of the mount, right below the crease.

Don't know what year your JK is or what your mirrors look like but I was looking into this mod with my 2013 JKU and happened to mention it to a Jeep mechanic i know. He laughed at me and said if your mirrors are retaining water you need to clean the mud out of the holes in the bottom of the door. He thought I was crazy...Just saying.

I know on my O7, this trick does wonders. I also know that the water not draining from the mirrors contributes to the hinge corrosion issue.

I did this mod on my 2013 and not one drop of water drains from the holes so they must drain out the bottom much better now.
