Default Which driveshaft 1st?

Driveshafts are probably my next upgrade, but due to the cost and my lack of extra(Jeep) funds, I'll probablly do one at a time.

I assumed that the rear should be upgraded 1st even on an Unlimited, but after going up to a 4" lift, the front driveshaft looks like it's at a pretty extreme angle coming out of the tcase. The pinion end looks fine. The rear d/s angle also looks OK. I forgot to measure the pinion angle, but my caster is at 5-6 degrees, so I think I'm OK.

Anybody got any pics of their front driveshaft at the t-case end, stock or lifted? Anybody's front d/s fail, not including those that failed from a ripped boot?

If you got the 2dr I would say do the rear first. The rear angle on the 2dr is EXTREME!!! But on the 4dr, the FRONT should be done first. The rear on the 4dr isn't all that much but if you look at the front it is about MAXED out in the angle.

I called Skyjacker direct asking specifically about their 7" long arm kit for the 2dr and they told me you only need to replace the front driveshaft, the stock rear shaft is fine.

Yep, with the 4 door the front maxes out first IMO
I had the RE 3.5" lift before and it looked like it was maxed out then, it was still working after 7 months of use though.
Now I put on the 4.5" long arm and I changed the front shaft right away because it was at a very bad angle at the t-case, but the rear still looks ok for now

The large diameter stock front driveshaft will hit the transmission on autos with longer shocks. For this reason, I say the front should be replaced first on ALL lifted automatics.

Yes I did. I told them I saw the 6" on an unlimited on this site and wanted to know how I go about accomplishing this on mine and he told me, the rear shaft would be a waste of money.

So will a 1350 CV shaft suffer from this diameter issue as well? I kinda like the added security of a beefier drive shaft... but then I've also heard 1310's will be plenty sufficient for wheeling 37's. Just wanna see what my options are, or if there are options at all.

I am curious about that as well. I wasn't sure if there was a shaft difference between the 1310 and 1350 or if the differences were just at the shaft and pinion.
