Default Driveshaft help

Well I tore my boot on my front driveshaft two weeks ago and I'm looking to get a new one... Any suggestions? What's the difference between the stock and cv? I seen that teraflex comes with the yoke kit? I am getting new gears soon too (probably the same time). Do the yoke kits make the gear install smoother? Thanks alot!

You might start out on Tom Woods website. Plenty of info and pics on replacing JK driveshafts. Check the tech info area also

Yoke kits are for older jeeps, not jk's. All you need is shipped with the driveshaft. (I'm assuming you were talking about slip yoke eliminator kits, correct? And not the new yokes for these so we don't have to use adapter plates?)

There are other shafts that are direct oe replacements using adapter plates, if you want to go that route. Tom gives his opinion of that option in the very first paragraph, but lots of people use them just the same.

Other popular driveshafts are:
JE Reel, Tatton, Coast, and several of the lift manufacturers have their own (though they may just be rebranded versions?)

And a write-up on the je reel shaft with new yokes.
