Correct - as they were meant to meet up...

I just meant that without compensation, the drop might not meet the pivot point if the axle shift moves the linkage over...that's why in your case, you used both to get the axle back over to make the pitman arm and the linkages meet at the same place, down where the system's rods, etc, can stay level, etc.

If skyjacker makes a part OPTIONAL...it implies that its not NEEDED, etc...so ANOTHER part may not be necessarily designed to meet with something that the maker didn't say HAD to be there, etc.

I modified the trans skid to clear at full droop but other than that it should be ok, I've ran steeper angles with no issues.

Default Kit number

Do you know the kit number that you are looking at getting? If you can tell us that it will help to check the kit content. I will research it if you can get me that number.

I'm waiting for my Skyjacker 5" for my two door (same kit as 4" for 4 door). Anyway, I ordered the drop pitman arm and the reinforced trackbar bracket for the rear. I read several posts about Skyjacker not addressing the front trackbar bracket possibly tearing off. I ordered the reinforcing kit from Currie just to be sure. Will this move/change anything? Will the combo work?

Once again with out a kit number it would be more guessing. I think it's the kit i was looking at before i went with my R.E. kit.

IIRC - The skyjacker bracket for the track bar just bolts into the factory track bar bracket, essentially just providing a higher mounting point...but, adding a leverage point that would therefore put more stress on the location.

If you re-read my post on the end of page 1 (Skip to the "IE:" Summary...)

It will tell you whats going on, and, allow you to compare the amount of track bar lift the Currie Bracket does vs the SkyJacker Bracket...

...and if that will ALSO compare with the new arc created by the Track Bar/Drag Link combo.

Frankly - as an adjustable track bar would let you fine tune this...it might be a good way to go over the bracket alone...as all the bracket is doing is compensating for the Track Bar not being able to get longer as the axle gets further from the frame.

Research the kit you are looking at. Call Skyjacker about the drop bracket for the front axle.

check out the threads about bump steer
This is correct! Get an adjustable track bar and you will not need a drop Pitman arm . That being said, you don't need it on the 4 door regardless. I have the 4" Skyjacker and no drop arm, it only has minimal bump steer. I'm going to adjustable track bars instead of the drop pitman.

Default Need kit #

I was on SKYJACKERS web site it took me a little bit to find kit break downs. One of the kits did list a frt drop bracket.

I personally would(and did) stay away from any kits that use frt drop bracket or cam bolts. Drop brakets ad extra stress to the stock bracket do to more leverage, for cam bolts you have to slot your control arm mounts and they tend to come loose.

If you plan on wheeling it alot or hard I would recomend FULL TRACTION or RUBICON EXPRESS.

Here is a pic of mine fully flexed. Rubicon Express 3 1/2 superflex
