Duratrac's. ...NOT IMPRESSED
I don't know brother maybe you have to do the test over a longer period of time ... All I can say is I've driven 35" Mickey Thompsons MTZ's thru a whole winter also their ATZ's ..... Goodyear MTR's as well(only 1 month on those.... Horrible). All I can say over an entire winter up here in Canada I'll take my Duratracs over any of those I mentioned any day...... For the record still use the MTR's for my summer wheeling.
Maybe you need to turn down the boost a bit lol. Every winter I put on my duratracs and its very noticeable. It goes from fishtailing and having to drive in 4wd to simply driving around in 2wd. From a dead stop my duratracs don't make me go all over the place. Do you just floor it from every red light?
This was just simply accelerating like you would from a light on dry pavement to see if there were traction differences. Also tried it starting slow like you do in snow and it felt exactly the same to me...both lost traction almost at the same throttle point

I honestly could not tell a single difference between any of the tires in any instance.
Now if we go mud and rocks etc...I'm sure differences would be very apparent.
I just simply feel in the snow or ice...everything sort of sucks unless you go full retard with snow tires

I think we all agree snow tires are best for snow. Somehow, a few got butt hurt that the almighty DT is no better than any other aggressive at or mt type tire, which was the point if my thread. Nothing to do with SNOW tires really. But, as stated by someone a few posts ago, people like to justify what they spend their money on and think it's the best. Or, they compare it to a tire they had 5 years ago like they could actually real world gauge it that way. Either way, this was an informative post about 3 tires in the same situation and environment. They all sucked in the snow of any type. Admittedly it was also meant to call BS on so many of these fan boy posts about those tires. Fanboys, are you serious. If everyone was fanboys, they'd run DuraTracs all year round. You have 3+ people in this thread that run MTs for 3 seasons then switch to DuraTracs for the snow. Do you think they go through the hassle to prove they made a good purchase?

3+ people doesn't trump the tons of people who have to justify their purchases by jumping bandwagons. I have the 4" Evo plush ride lift and I'll be the first to tell you it's not plush...because I'm not insecure. Don't feel the need to justify the expense of so called better coils when they're not what I thought they'd be. People just need to man up and be honest so we all can benefit from true reviews...which was my point of this thread.
And my little test...do people have molecularly different snow in other areas that would change my result? No.
I can promise you the snow is the same where I grew up in NY as it is here as it is in CO etc.. so the results would be the same repeated anywhere 100 times over.

Weird... I don't know what to tell you then lol. I get a noticeable difference in traction on pavement and offroad with my duratracs over the MTZs. Mind you they obviously are not skid proof, if I step on it hard then yeah I can easily have fun barring the TC is killed. But driving civil the MTZs are all over the place, while the Duratracs keep me planted. Even offroad, I kept the MTZ's on a bit longer this year and did the same local trail with them and it was AWFUL, all over the place and had to keep my lockers on more times then not to get out of anything. Slap on the duratracs and same trails are easy, just keep the lockers for the icy hill climbs. But otherwise a huge difference.

Well, I'd say that I'm not upset or offended and just prefer people to post opinions of products that they've personally ran but it's obvious that when your mind is made up, there is no changing it so feel free to think what you want.

A lot of people also run too much air pressure in Duratracs. For snow/ice you should be 27psi in a 35", even a bit less if it's a 10ply. Anything over 30psi and you'll be skating all over.
