Jeep has not been driven that much. Maybe 40K since upgrade. Front rotors are shot. So what's your favorite 13.5 inch rotors that won't break the bank.
Also, do I need to buy Dynatrac Pads now? Are these stock size pads? I thought they were larger than stock with this kit. Doesn't say in the description that I can see.
Question, what happened to the rotors? Worn out pads totaled the rotors? Not familiar with that Kit .. I would be contacting Dynatrac for more on that kit and replacement parts. Did you keep the OEM pads when you installed the kit to compare the Pads ( a parts store could show you the will fit pads that are specified as OEM replacements should you take the old Dynatrac pads in for comparison.).
Well the front rotors have heavy grooves on the outer edges. Yes I install the pads that came with the kit fro DynaTrac. I remember them being larger. Pads are real thin but not bottoming out yet. I'll probably call them but was looking for opinions on large rotors other folks have used.
Many of us use the Crown Auto (RT Offroad) BBK which uses rotors with this part number - 68040177AA . having said that, might not work with those DT caliper brackets cuz it's not quite as big as the DT rotor which could make the pad alignment on the rotor off a bit. I would suspect this is the case, and planned as such, so that you're forced into replacing with DT rotors again. DT isn't going to make it easy for people to simply use DT options would be my guess. I really hate those guys. They are so hard to get good information from as well. All of my experiences with them are worthless.
I currently use Teraflex's front rotor due to a unique jeep build. Man, those things are pricey too.
Just called Northridge. $500 for rotors and pads for the front using DynaTrac parts. Ouch! I thought I read somewhere you could use RAM truck parts but can't confirm.

The Crown BBK is the one that uses RAM truck brakes.
Only if it is the same (precise diameter./ circumference / hat depth) as DT Rotor.. You would need to purchase and put them side by side to ensure same fit.. Buy on Amz and it might be returnable .. check that. Definitely see DT is Proud of their Rotors..
BTW agree with Ghost JK,, I have run the Crown BBK on front for 8 yrs and the kit installation listed all the MOPAR Ram Brake Part Numbers..and still haven't changed the Pads.. Over 60K miles on them now and still pass PA inspection.
I have to admit some confusion on the TF rotors. not sure what the difference between these two model numbers are, outside of the one that has painted inner -
Especially since on their own website TF doesn't even list that second one -
I purchased the first set of rotors last time and they were pretty much a swap for the Crown rotors I had previously (I needed a 5x5.5 bolt pattern for a hub conversion but still using crown calipers and brackets). i had to pay to have the inner bore machined out for my hubs which added a good bit to the cost, and sucked.
Take a close look at where the DT pads land on that rotor. Compare the diameter of the DT rotors to the TF or Crown and judge the spacing how close the DT caliper brackets place the pad on the current rotor and judge if you have enough space to play with. I'd imagine you're likely ok but i'd want the security of being able to return the new rotors if you get them in hand and that doesn't appear to be the case.
