Exclamation Dynomax 39459 - Issues

Has anyone else had problems with the fitment of this kit? I have the Tera-Flex 4" kit with raised trac-bar mount at the axle and have lost a significant amount of up-travel. No matter which way I turn it there is interference between it and the trac-bar.

On a side note, it sounds great.

Oh sh!t.... I just ordered that kit yesterday and I have the same Teraflex 4" kit with the rear trac-bar bracket.

Do you have any pics?

Is it a horrible fit or cause you to crush it while on he trails?

Do you have pics? Is this where the exhaust system "bends" above the rear axle and then shoots out the rear?

With an additional 1" of bump stop below the tera-flex lower bumpstop I am still hitting the trac-bar against the crossover pipe before totally squishing the stock yellow jouncer. The trac-bar then pushes the exhaust into the bottom of the tub and the exhaust tip into the bumper.

I tried to pull the entire exhaust towards the rear of the Jeep to get the crossover lined up with the trac-bar for clearance but it is not enough. If my jeep was stock there would probably be no issue.

Yeah- that's kinda odd since it is a "RockCrawler" system...

Maybe call up Dynomax and see what your options are... Test fit mine when it comes and see what happens?

I am waiting for a response here, if not I will contact them directly. I would not cancel your order, test fit and let me know. Maybe something is wrong with mine.

I have an e-mail into our guys. But is your Jeep a 2DR or 4DR? Maybe you got the wrong one. I know you put down 39459 which is the 4DR part number, so I am guessing it is a 4DR. This is weird... will hopefully have an answer tomorrow. Thanks

Edit
Did you by chance install yourself? Still have the instructions around?

For PN 39459 the long exhaust tube should be labeled as 56157.
For PN 39464 the exhaust tube is 55428. (this is the 2DR kit)

Yes, I installed it myself and checked the part numbers that were on the exhaust against the installation instructions. And, yes it is a 4 door. The instructions went with the box to the recycling center.

Thanks for your help so far, hopefully we find a solution.

Edit
The crossover looks to be in the right place directly above the axle, if the trac-bar mounted lower in the stock position there would probably not be any conflict.

Do you guys have access to a 4 dr jk with the tera-flex axle side trac-bar bracket?

Speedy64vw have you attempted to install yet? I have not heard back from Dynomax, I assume they are looking into it.

This is the info that I have been told. We aren't able to test all combinations of suspension systems that are out there unfortunately. What we suggest is to have the system dump out similar to what Off Road Evolution and Poison Spyder do with our exhaust systems on many of their builds. Like this in the pics:

I am sure that posting this pic of where it dumps out will be a cause of a lot of concern, but I spent a lot of time with EVO1 last week in Moab and no exhaust fumes that killed Mel or his family.

We call this our "rockcrawker" system as it adds significant protection to the muffler than where it is originally mounted. As we all know various suspension companies will have different designs on their suspension systems. All of the different suspension designs may lead to slight modifications on occasion to many exhaust systems that are available out there. For instance, the new Full Traction suspension kit uses our 2 door kit with slight modifications with out any problems.

I do hope this answers your question but if you have more feel free to ask here or PM me. Thanks to all for buying our exhaust system! It was a pleasure meeting a lot of you out in Moab last week.

Or if you don't feel comfortable with this option you can take advantage of our 90 Risk Free Trial Offer.
