Open your eyes people!!! It's not cheaper. It's quite abundant here and when it came out it was significantly cheaper than regular gas but now is no where near the 27% cheaper it needs to be to break even with the loss in mileage. If you can do the math you won't wast your time. The man is sticking it to you!!

Personally, I'd rather pay more for e85 and reduce our need for foreign oil. I never once thought it would be saving me big dollars to use e85. But hey, maybe i'm misunderstanding the whole issue as I've not studied it in depth, but getting away from relying on the middle east for oil, even if it costs me more at the pump, seems like a good thing to me. Plus, if we reduce our consumption of said oil, it seems the price would go down as well. Supply and demand.

....and just how much of a dent do you think we're puttin on the need for foreign oil? Look around you. Petroleum is EVERYWHERE. How much plastic you got around you? You gonna quit buyin that? You gonna quit buyin food? Cause it's in there, too. You gonna quit buyin clothes? Tires? You gonna quit ridin on asphalt in protest? You gonna quit buyin makeup for the wife or girlfriend? Yeah, right. I get a kick outta people who think "their" contribution is gonna help a thing. Vehicles only make up a SMALL percentage of petroleum use.

Right now in Vegas? Talking like .19 cents a gallon. Not even worth it for me!

I bought my JK because I always wanted a Jeep. For me? It's a "luxury" to drive a less fuel efficient vehicle. I trade off M.P.G. for the topless and doorless "option" with my JK.

Pretty cool when I take a date to the lake and she says, " what's up that hill?", and my answer is? "Let's go see."

I'm buying a new Harley to commute to and from work. Another "luxury" but another dream fulfilled and great M.P.G.!

I won't "convert" my 2007 JK to anything! It's a turnover year and will be worth more in the long run modded to hell and still running on 87 Octane!

Life is about choices? Hmmmm? My JK and Skeeter bass boat today? Or the Harley?

The idea is not to eliminate the need for oil completely, as that's absurd and simply couldn't be done. The idea is to reduce how heavily we rely on oil from the middle east. It IS possible to do, if a country like Brazil can move away from foreign oil, it's certainly within the realm of possibility for us.

E85 is a joke, not only as previously stated above is it less efficient than gasoline and produce more CO2 but it also costs more in the long run. You can't pipe the stuff, if all has to be trucked so that rises cost; and also since it is mainly being made from corn products that raises the price of corn which in turn raises the price of milk, cheese, meat, etc... way to go democrats in the house and senate, glad you have control, lol idiots

I'll start by saying I am no chemist, or oil cracking expert. But one of the reasons we have plastics and asphalt is because it is made with the by products of making gasoline. The reason people state that gas only uses a percentage of the crude, is because the crude gets split up and made into many things.

I think the thing you are bringing to light, is that all of the byproduct products are going to become much more expensive if there is less crude used to make gas. Since global gas usage is only likely to go up anytime soon, you can enjoy cheap plastic products for years to come.
