I don't like the high prices more than anyone else but the day the government steps in and controls any business margins then the American way of capitalism is over. What some people are talking about on here amounts to socialism. Im not Canadian and don't want to be. The enemy here is the tree huggin dirt fuckers that are keeping us from drilling our own oil stateside. There are huge amounts of oil just off the east coast (less than 90 miles!) that our liberal buddies have kept us from touching, meanwhile China is going to town! That's just crazy!

I agree. The thing is, people keep sayin stupid crap like "Them damn democrats won't let us drill!" I got news, I'm old enough to remember the REPUBLICAN administration that LOCKED down drilling and exploration. It was Nixon. Ever since then, crooked politicians paid with bribes and kickbacks on BOTH sides have kept this country from being energy independant. Now, my votin habits ain't ANYBODY'S business, but I'm gonna say that I vote Republican 99% of the time. There's ONE local feller who I like that's a Congressman for our district. Jim Marshall. I know him personally. He's a democrat. He'll get my vote everytime. The other is our local county Sheriff. Republican is just MY personal preference, but I ain't sayin they've been right about everything or that the democrats are evil. How ignorant would that be? What IS evil are all of the special interest groups on BOTH sides like the industrialists and the environmental kooks. All that has NO place in government. PERIOD. We need to do what THIS COUNTRY needs to stay on top of the energy game. We've always been first at everything in the past. Now we're starting to reap the harvest of greed that we're first in now. That's gotta change. When I say change.....I ain't talkin about Obama change either. He ain't gotta clue.

That's a great point I hadn't thought about or heard discussed. Our US Dollar is growing increasingly weak. So why don't I see on CNN that the dollar is down, and then the next morning see the pump price change? Makes more sense, but isn't reality. I could definately see the oil companies buying crude from their overseas subsidiaries and it costing more on the books...but that gets back to the 6 weeks comment...

The dollar is not getting weaker, again bad press sells stories... Read the first sentence of this article that was released 2 hours ago.

How true, not only that be they found the worlds largest oil reserve right here in the good old U.S.A. Wyoming ! billions and billions of barrels of oil, but as long as our USG allows millions and millions of dollars from the middle east to OUR
green piece, and ecology groups to keep the USA on the oil spot market nothing will change,

Change has to happen at The highest government level ( do you think that will happen )

When I grew up some sixty years ago , It was a government by the people and for the people NOT by Business for Business.
