Eas/bas light is on
Checked the forum but keep getting error codes for this problem. Could be cause I'm on my phone... Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Went wheelin and got hung up a bit with my right front tire. While backing up I didn't have my wheel straight. After we got off the trail I noticed my eas/bas light on and my steering wheel was turned slightly to the right (about the 1 o'clock position). The JK drives straight and it doesn't pull to either side. Could straightening my steering wheel fix this? I thought I'd read this somewhere before. Thanks for the help...

Yes. The computer thinks you are sliding/turning. Loosen the two bolts on the drag link, twist the turnbuckle until the steering wheel is straight, tighten the bolts. Go for a drive, then repeat if needed.
If you don't have someone to help, you can mark the center/top of the steering wheel with a piece of tape or something so you can see it from your knees while twisting the turnbuckle. Saves you having to get up and go look, then go back and twist.

It is possible to turn it too far the wrong direction. Most likely you need to go the shortest direction to center, not the long ways around. If you use the tape method, be sure the tape pops up from the correct direction lest you think you have a centered wheel, but still have lights. If it does happen, just rotate the turnbuckle the other direction to see if that works. This is a good reason to have a second person, instead of the tape, if at all possible. But tape is fine if you're careful.
