Default Equal tire balancing compound? Anyone with experience?

I know I will probably get flames on this thread, but I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for. I just replaced GY Duratracs b/c I couldn't ever get them balanced properly. I went with the bfg km2's- 35x12.5x17. Much better balance after road force balanced, but still have a vibration starting at about 40 mph and really sucks at 70-80 mph. It was suggested that I swap tires front to rear and see if that fixes it and I have not done that yet. It was also suggested to use Equal balancing compound. Does this stuff work? I know I am way too picky, but I can't believe it when I am told that it is just the nature of big tires. Thanks for any feedback.

Post Tire Balancing

Lead weights are now illegal- ostensibly to "protect the enviorment" more likely aimed at reloaders. Will the balancing beads effect the TPMS ? As in erode them ? I believe the beads are a silicone material.

It is weird that you have balancing issues on 2 set of tires.

It looks like you are using lug centric wheels. Have you used centering ring to center the wheels on your hubs?

I always use that to mount lug centric wheels. If the wheel is not perfectly centered around the hub you may notice vibrations that are similar to badly balanced tires.

This might help you. The last time I purchased such rings it cost me about $3 per ring.

I just talked to discount tire and they told me that a centering ring is not made for lug centric wheels like mine. They are custom making them for me for free. Does that sound right?..

I like sugar. Equal is too sweet LOL!

I have Centermatics on my Truck and they are a balancing "Ring" that sandwich between the flange and rim. Kinda like those brake dust shields you see every now and again.

I had a huge issue with the BFG MTR's on the duallie and actually wound up with a batch of tires that were out of round. The last set I got from BFG's dime had a balancing issue. I had ordered the centermatics and lo and behold balanced bliss.

What is cool is it will cancel out snow back , mud, and anything that can stick to a rim throwing it out of balance. They have a weird sound when coming to a stop (Like a billion b'bs sloshing in water)

They do not make them for jeeps that I know of but the auto balancing experience is pretty cool.

As for powder/balls I heard that with frequent airing up/down you more most than likely will inflate with a air pump that has condensation in it. When weather changes for the colder you can have frozen clumps in the tire thus making for a unbalanced tire. Can anyone confirm a freeze issue?

Not sure I understand. Does it means that your wheels are custom made with JK hub bore (71.5mm)? When you install them do they fit perfectly around the hub?

apparently, the hub bore is 71.5 like you state, but my liquid metal gatlins have a bore of 87.1. Liquid Metal does not make a centering ring and so Discount Tire is having one custom made to accommodate my wheels. I am assuming that this should solve my issues with the vibrations?
