It takes some trial and error but essentially, loosen the bolts on the turnbuckle below and then rotate it up or down to center your steering wheel.

Hey, I have the same issue although im not sure that my esp is not working just as it was designed. I have no lift but run 33s. I find the esp kicks in on corners at speeds I thought were normal. I have yet to experiment with shutting it off and trying it. I can say I dont like it.

Default ESP activation

I just bought my X model 2 days ago and driving to work this morning the ESP was going on through tight corners. The road was wet, but I wasn't driving at excessive speed. I'm running 245/75-16 TXRs on stock steel wheels, no lift. I'm not used to all this new technology. Gonna have to learn about something new again........

Hey EXTREMEJK,
I finished up my 4" Skyjacker lift last night and guess what. After I recenter the steering wheel my ESP light came on on the hairpin turn I have on my road. The noise that things makes kind of startled me. Same thing in the same turn headed back to the house.

Its being aligned today maybe that will help. Do we have any other options like turning it off? The steering wheel is as close to center as it could possibly be.

I'm trying to find a drop pitman arm and see if that will help.

There are companies that are working on a fix for this but unfortunately, there are no means to turn off the ESP at this time.

Exclamation flash computer with new tire size?

Has anyone flashed the computer after the lift and new tire size? On the TJ Rubi you need to flash the computer to get the speedo correct after new tire sizes.

Maybe the new ESP has to be working with the correct information on tire size to be calculating the body roll and excess wheel speed?

Just a thought...

From everyone I've talked to, getting the steering wheel center is the key to fixing (for the most part anyway) the ESP. The problem is, it the ESP detects your tires are going straight while your steering it off center to them, it will think you are in a slide and respond accordingly.

 I don't understand.... there is a button on my Sahara that says "ESP Off" and when I push it, the ESP light comes on indicating that ESP has been turned off.... are there other components or something that are always on?

EDIT: See next post!
