Default ESP wire

I'm sick of the steering wheel ESP disable dance. I've tried it dozens of times and haven't had any luck. Time to break out the wire cutters and install the switch. I've read hear that I will need to locate and cut the the purple wire with a light blue stripe. I guess it's close to another purple wire with a dark blue stripe that is NOT it. Anyone have a picture of the wire to cut and it's location?
Thanks,
Nathan

I would recommend resolving the issue causing the ESP to kick on. I assume you have a lift? I had this issue and resolved it with the front trackbar centering my axle then adjusting my caster beyond the stock setting using lower front control arms. The ESP is a helpful feature that if you can adjust the suspension back you will get both a better ride and you will get to keep ESP.

Just my 2 cents, I don't know the color of the wire you are asking about, sorry.

Not all Jeeps have it. I don't know exactly when they put it in, but I know that my '07 did not get the ESP firmware until the dealer put in the brake recall firmware--in 2008. Maybe you should check with the dealer and see if you might need a firmware update (and maybe that recall).

I don't have a problem with my ESP going on, I just want to be able to disable it when offroad. I've driven for too many years without it. I need wheel speed in certain situations and the ESP just won't allow for it.
I've got a trip to the dealer planed for a couple issues; I'll have him check for firmware updates. Thanks!
