Evo requires their corners, but since it mounts to the 1/4" plate corners its stronger at the mounting points. Genright mounts to the body. It's in a strong spot but I've personally seen someone back into a tree and buckle the body at the driver side bracket.

If you go with genright I'd try to mount it to a corner of some form as well.

That is a big negative my friend, I open and close my tailgate A LOT throughout the day and opening the evo carrier is easy! The pins slide in and out no problem, carrier swing out no problem and very smoothly, and is stout. I love it. A lot easier to open than my old Hanson carrier that's for damn sure. I barely feel the weight of the tire while opening compared to when I had the Hanson. I recommend it for you and any women in your life that will open and close your tailgate!
(Tip) it helps to replace the 1/2" hinge side bolts with 9/16" bolts. Takes care if some if the droop when opening swinging the carrier open.
Here's mine

I open mine alot and I dont have an issue. I can pull it and push it with just 2 fingers with that heavy 37. The only thing I did different on mine from others is I installed little cables to my pins so when I pull them out they hang there just to make sure I dont miss place them

Heres one on our two door stretch kit. Sorry don't have any more on my phone..

We install/sell both carriers here. Genrite makes a nice carrier for sure.

I find the Evo carrier easy to get into,

Even after 1,500 road miles and over 400 offroad miles on the JKX. Nothing changed still opens and closes the same.
