Default Experts? Time to put it down....Disable the TPMS

Okay, I seems like the little chime and yellow light could be annoying from time to time.... BUT, I swapped my wheels out and there went my sensors. So what are some real options? If you have a spare PM me a price. ON THE OTHER hand, does anyone know how to kill the system for no use. I tried to read through the manual and system; from what I can see.. the actual fuse is part of the whole dash system. You kill that...it won't even move. Yes, I could live with it, but any experts, please confirm "THERE IS NO WAY" to turn off the light and chime without the sensors active with the correct pressure? Well, I love my wheels, I'll just have to constantly wonder if my seat belt is on....

From experience with my Dodge Magnum R/T AWD that came with the TPS. I upgraded my wheels to aftermarket 20's, but used my stocker's for wiinter months and keep the sensors in the stock wheels.

I tried driving with no sensors with the 20's and the chime was annoying and the light was always on. I tried pulling fuses but caused my Magnum to go into limp home mode....no power!

I ended up getting a second set of TPS for my aftermarket wheels cost me $50 a sensor was 3 years ago....and I would imagine prices have dropped a little.

This was the only way I could get away from the light always on and hearing that annoying chime.

If you are not going to use your second set of wheels take out those TPS and place in your aftermarket wheels.

WARNING: When you do get your tires replaced or flats repaired ensure the tire technician knows you have TPS as they destroyed 2 of my sensors when removing the tire from the rim. Company paid for the damage but it was 1 week of hearing the chime & seeing the light!

In the past the dealer could re-flash the computer to remove this. I had it done on my Jeep Liberty because every time the weather got cold it would go off, and so I had the dealer remove this feature.

In the past it wasn't a Fed. req that they had them on cars, suv's etc.
Now that has changed so I doubt dealers will be taking this setting off for you
as it opens them up to a whole new world of liability of they do they and you
have a problem as a result of low tire pressure.

Has anyone figured out where the chime or speaker is that is making this friggin noise? If I can get to it, I'm going to remove it, put it in a shoe box, and bury it in my back yard!

It is federal law that those have to be there. It will not pass an inspection without them, and if you sell it, legally, the buyer could hold you liable.
