Default Extra weight

I figure all the ad ons im going with will add up to probably 600 pounds or close to , my tires alone say 320 pounds for 5 of them on the shipping label, plus i never figured in the rims on my weight so maybe 700 pounds, with all the brands of tires do they all run pretty much near the same weight for the same sizes. will there be a big drag with all this weight,i am adding new gears, dual tip catback ,and cold air intake, my tires are 35's

I dont have the email to cut and paste into here but i had a response from DC on weight in te JK. And in a nut shell.....every 100 pounds will be 1-2% less MPG. and ofcourse power to weight is thrown off too, so your jeep will feel under powered. JK is rated at 205hp, but on a dyno it only gets around 140Rwhp. not much for a 4500lb brick.

Don't forget to subtract the weight of the old wheels and tires in your figuring. Your gearing change and CAI should help in the power dept., but yes, as a rule, the more weight you add, the less power you'll feel. You might consider a Jet chip, or Hypertech programmer too.
