Default Factor bumper Chop ??

I really want to turn my front factory bumper into a stubby but I don't really feel like spending 60 bucks just to buy end caps. How would it look if I just cut it and left it as is ? Would it look trashy ? Better even with out the end caps ?? Please give me your opinions thanks

I did it to the rear and i personally didn't like the open look. Now it may look different with the front, but if you don't like it then at least you have the end caps from the original to add on

There's a few threads on here with every variation of the bumper chop. Reusing the ends to make it a midwidth seems to be the most popular look.

Leaving it open looks like you half assed it, and looks terrible IMO....You can use the caps you cut off to rivet back onto the ends and it looks good and saves you the money that Quadratec wants for basically the same ends that you already cut off...Do a search and you will find step by step directions...that is what I did...remember the first cut is the hardest...Click image for larger version

Sawzall.....and it worked really well.....Took about 10 minutes per side, including drilling out the hole and putting the bolt in to hold the plastic bumper part back to the steel sub structure.

Cut just inside the bolt holes on the existing plastic bumper cover and it fits perfectly to give you a solid straight line to come down and lines up nicely with the grill width.

I hear that some guys buy some door edge trim( the kinda you got to heat apply on to edge) and put that on the cut ends and looks alot better than a rough cut edge.

It might look something like this. I like the look a lot. Go for it.
