Default Factory fogs vs aftermarket fogs

Many of us want to keep the factory fogs in the bumper, so much so that Shrockworks has designed an "extended" stubby bumper with factory fog mounts (seemingly based mostly on feedback from the members of this forum).

Has anyone had experience comparing the factory fogs with aftermarket fogs? I would think most aftermarket fogs would outperform those from the factory in most cases. Are there advantages to keeping the factory fog lights (other than having to buy aftermarket lights)?

To me, i already have them, they work perfectly for me, i might as well use them. If someone had a bumper i liked that had different ones in it though, that would certainly be an option. The one that i saw had twin lights in the bumper, but was full width and looked amazingly HUGE to me. i wanted the stuby, or close to it.

I'm happy with the factory fogs. Really light up the road right in front of the Jeep. Best fogs on any vehicle I've owned thus far.

I like the factory foglights too. The light fills in the dark areas behind the headlights and project much wider than the headlights. For aux lights, I use the KC Daylighter long range mounted on the grille guard.

Then I installed the Marchal rally lights then I didn't even need fog lamps anymore. I will probably place the factory fogs on my drag link for now as auxiliary rock lamps, until I break them off. If I ever get inspired to do it.
I might agree a little with Michael on this. My Wal-Mart lights are cheap but light up very well. I had to find something else since Mopar didn't incorporate the factory Fog into the Mopar bumper. I still haven't figured that out.
