looking to upgrade my tires to a 33 A/T. Anyone ever run Falken Wild Peak in a 285/70/17? Although I prefer the look of M/T's I decided to go with A/T's as this is my DD and the snowy NE winters. Any recommendations? BTW - I'm going with a teraflex leveling kit for now.

 

I have bfg all terrains in a 265 70 17, i love them and they are pretty good in the winter.

 

x2 on this, I've had them on every truck/suv I've had & never let me down

I have ran bfg 285 75 16 at, did a good job out in moab and for ever day driving wear real good. Just put some km2 285 75 16, I need a little more traction in muddy roads

For such a mild looking tread, the wildpeak A/T surpassed our expectations in terms of performance off-road. Much of the punishment our staff subjected the wildpeak A/T to included heavy rock, deep mud, high-speed gravel and sand. We even managed to challenge the compound to some unforgiving lava rock near Flagstaff, AZ, with little consequence. In virtually all aspects, the pattern returned positive results. However, we remain suspicious about the long term puncture resistance of the thin sidewalls. Though our staff didn't expirience any flats, the wildpeak A/T did fall short when it came to breaking in the dirt. It wasn't really an issue on-road, but off-road, we found that these tires lock up and skid more readily than other tires in this category. As expected, the wildpeak A/T shinned on pavement whether it was wet, dry, or snow covered.

i've run the wildpeaks in a larger size but, i think my experience with them would still apply. to that end, i think they are a good tire and ones that perform well, will help give you better mpg and do surprisingly well in snow.

 

I'm running Dick Cepek Fun Country II 33/12.50's. Love them.

 

I have those exact tires and like them very much.

Rondom thoughts about the tires to follow:

I have been on some muddy snowy local fire roads with no issues.

On the street they are really smooth.

My buddy just drove my jeep and he has the toyos ( i love them by the way ), and commented on how quite they were in comparison.

I did some medium rock crawling ( just a beginner here ) at the forest fest ( local socal event in the mountains) and they did amazing aired down to 15 lbs.

I find the best ride is between 28-30 psi.

When the tires shop installed them they had them at 38-39 and i almost knocked some teeth out.

I am stock height with 1.5 inch spacers and have no rubbing even with the sway bars disconnected.

 

I have these tires in that size as well...super quick and great on wet pavement. But they are very temperamental when it comes to finding the correct tire pressure...i have them at 32 and plan on going down a little more

 

What are you guys running for rims?
