Default feedback on choices

Ok I think I have decided the route I want to go with my jeep. Im looking for feedback on my choices as id rather not look back on it and say "I wish I would have"

the lift I picked is the TeraFlex JK 2.5in Lift Kit w/Shocks goal here is to gain height but not to the point where I need drive shafts etc.

the rims
I picked
CRAGAR Series 397 Soft 8 Black Wheel I'm thinking 17x9 with 5.0 backspacing to eliminate rubbing and 17 since I do use this as a DD with 30 miles a day on highway.

tires I want to go with the duratrac. I like the good reviews and they look good imo.

I'm unsure what size duratracs I can run with this setup and I would love it if someone with more experience would chime in with any information. I am not dead set on any of these components if you have alternatives feel free to suggest.

Good lift, good choice on tires, and the rims could work.

I would stick with a 4.5" or less backspacing on the rim to avoid any rubbing issues. With a 2.5" lift, you can fit 35s on there, but 33s would be more practical. It all depends if you have an auto/stick and what gear ratio you have.

I have a 2 door X with the HD suspension and plan on getting 285/70R17 (33x11.50) Duratrac on my stock moabs with spacers (4.5" backspacing). It should fit but I plan on adding the same lift you are to my Jeep later on.

TF coils are tall, you're getting in the 3-3.5" range with that lift. Double check the cautions in the faq's for both driveshafts and caster. 35's would be a good fit, but if you are going to a 12.50 width, you may want to go with less BS on the rims. (TF recommends a 4.5" or less BS)

33's should be alright, but if you decide later to go with 35's on that lift, you will probably have to cut or pound the pinch seam out of way in front of the rear tires. Not a big deal, but the tires will touch there on compression if you don't.

I'll be one of the few that say ... 33's. The 35's will fit and look good but may have you thinking... should I have done gears too . Like stated above the 35's may rub in spots. Just my

all great feedback so far thank you. Sounds like the following changes need to be made if i follow yall.

1. BS on rims 4.5 not 5
2. 33's on the duratrac's (to answer IcyFridge its a 2 door x auto trans)
3. in response to nthinuf im aware of the faq's I guess I was just thinking this would be in the 2.5 range and not apply. Any alternative to this lift that would keep me from needing to go down that road? also I thought 33's fit on stock JK's or is that just pushing the limits like 35's is with a 2.5 lift?

sorry so many questions but Ive always been a measure twice cut once kinda person.

P.S. This is for the vendors it would be really cool if there were lift packages i.e. 33 inch 35 inch that came with rim choice, tire choice, lift choice and just came with everything needed like drive shafts etc that way us newbs wouldnt have to read for months to figure out what works. just my two cents.

you can check my gallery. im using the 2.5 TF coil lift with shocks on 35s. if you have a 2 dr, you will get more like 3-3.5" of lift. all i needed was a front track bar. you will be fine with that set up ( lift and tire size). i would stay 4.5" or under. i am running 16x8 procomps with 4" bs.

Browse this one. OP has an auto with a TF 2.5 coil lift. Scroll down to post #6 for some modifications.

nthinuf, Ty that is exactly what i was afraid of. If I understand you correctly its the coils that are putting me in the 3 - 3.5 right so if I did the TF 2.5 with shocks and coil spacers instead of coils id be ok?
