Thanks! Unfortunately I only finished the one side today. The drivers side will take more work. It's broken in the middle, so I have to repair it first then I can cut it up. Also, I had to cut a slot in my front PureJeep bumper for my Mopar tow bar brackets. That took way to long.
The best part of the day was all the neighbors coming by one by one talking to me about what I was doing. They all think I'm They kept asking.....Why?....what?......does your wife know you're doing this?...........maybe you should of bought an old Jeep..............you like that?.............One guy even tried to tell me how I could put the old piece I cut off back on.......
What a day!!!

i like it.

funny about your neigbors... mine dont really give a crap so long as I can start it and park it in the back yard so I dont bring down the property values.

everyone I work with keeps asking me how much longer i'm gonna leave my JK stock. Moody AFB is down here, so there are a few Airmen with padded pockets lifting JKs already... so I can relate. they want to see me cut up my brand new rig.

Yah my kids had just woken up in those pictures. They all had that look. My 8 year old asked "what are you doing to my Jeep?"

Purpose? Weight reduction

I have already taken it on the freeway and hit 95 . No vibration to speak of from the passenger side. I retained all of the inner brackets and splash shields I just cut them a little.. Actualy feels stronger than before. Go figure?....

I don't need to worry about neighbors as my driveway is about 100' long.

Here's most of it after a rare Winter ice storm.

Looks great! I would like to see the template if you ever get around to making one. My only suggestion is to paint the inside of the fender black. In this photograph the silver in the wheel well takes your eye off the nice fender line. Just my .02 cents. Oh and what exactly did you use to cut the fender. Looks like a clean cut.

Damn CLACKEY(_!_), that looks really, really good. By far the best home made flatfender job I've seen to date - Makes me want to do mine now

I used a hack saw to cut the fender and bracket. There isn't a template. I marked off the fender with tape to where I thought looked good and cut along the tape. I then used my sander to smooth it out. Pretty easy really. I still need to finish the drivers side.
And Gear I think your right about the black on the inside. The liner is not in on this pic.
