Default Flat tow with aftermarket bumper

We're looking to buy a Jeep that has a JCR Offroad Mauler Stubby (https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/JKFM.html) front bumper and optional front bumper skid installed. The Jeep will be towed behind an RV. Question is, does anyone know whether or not you can successfully install a base plate for towing (like this one https://www.blueoxtowbars.com/products/BX1126-65?gclid=Cj0KCQjw5fDWBRDaARIsAA5uWThfaf2Gc9ErG8jfi y2SScW1bq_-nhzz5a8Gj_Rto_rDHkgIcj2q3rYaAkh_EALw_wcB) with this bumper installed? From what I have found online it looks like it's possible as long as I remove the skid plate.

Any thoughts, suggestions are welcome! Don't want to buy a Jeep to have to turn around and replace the bumper.

Thanks!

I'm sure there are other people that tow and I think the topic just came up last week asking something similar. There's a company that makes a nice connector (probably blue ox) that hooks right to your recovery points on the front there......and I don't think it was the $1000 you've got listed above.

I tow off the front of my Poison Spyder Brawler recovery points with no issues. If you have a blue ox tow bar they make an adapter that replaces the attachment point on the tow bar which hooks directly to your bumper. I also found a local guy who makes his own adapters which are a little cheaper, he even makes one for the roadmaster if thats the bar you have. You shouldn't need the base plate with the new bumper. Happy towing!!

Agree. No baseplate necessary. I use an Blue Ox Aventa towbar, and swapped out the ends for the attachement that mates right to the recovery points in Smittybilt bumper.

Do you have a towbar already? If not, you should be able to find many good 2nd hand options out on Craigslist for a decent price.....and save a lot of money. Do you have a supplemental braking system already?
