A jack should only be used to lift or lower, never to hold a vehicle up. You lift, grab the jack stands, and lower.
Duh!

I'll need a 3 ton with all my extras. Found (4) 6 ton jack stands on Amazon, but not finding a high lift floor jack. When I pull my tranny to change my clutch, I want sum room. Arcan has a 2 ton that lifts 24", but I can't use a 2 ton with all my extras I have.

I've had good luck with the 3 ton floor jacks from Costco/Sams for ~$100. I'm on my second because the seals in my first didn't survive trying to regear during an Ohio winter....

I had a set of 1-1/2t and 3t jack stands that I used for tires and oil changes but borrowed some 12t ton double locking Torin's from a friend and those were awesome. I felt much better about crawling under with the locking pin. Needless to say, I went and bought a set of 6t and 12t double locking from Northern Tools for myself!!!

Friends do not let friends buy Honda.

This is how it was when I started....
With Christmas and waiting a few days for some seals to come in, the weather didn't cooperate. Luckily the majority of the work was done in a small shop that I could heat (but wouldn't fit the Jeep).
