Default Foot Mounting Superwinch EPi9.0S

I am mounting my winch into my bumper and the bumper's designed to totally enclose the winch inside and secure thee winch foot mounted (the winch is most commonly mounted standing upright, and the line pulls out of the winch at a 90 degree angle to the mounting. Foot mounting has the winch lying horizontally and the cable pulls in-line with the footing of the winch, which is also in-line with the front-to-back frame of the jeep).

My question is regarding the solenoid. Superwinch says you have to mount the solenoid in an upright position. So I'll have to disassemble the winch (which I don't want to do) vs getting a different model (also not interested in this) that already has a separated solenoid that can be mounted remotely.

Why is it necessary to mount the solenoid upright??? I could imagine water collecting in it could be a problem, but the thing's gonna get wet no matter what. Furthermore the solenoid is described as "fully sealed and submersible", and I don't swamp my jeep in high water, just rain water on the street and whatever gets flung up under the jeep.

Superwinch is closed on weekends, and I'd like to ge tthis done if possible. Any help is appreciated.

That might be a factor, but there really isn't any restriction to air flow having it mounted horizontally. At least not how it is on my bumper/jeep.

Any other ideas???
