Great feedback everyone. Eventhough I floated the idea, I'm not going to see if the dealer will replace under warranty. Fact is I know why it is what it is and I don't think it ethical to try and get them to take care of it.

Keep the Poll and opinions coming in on the topic. I'm not decided yet.

Well the voting is pretty close. I spent about 45 minutes trying to get the boot back on today. No luck. It stretches alost to the axle side part of the shaft, but there is no way to stretch it and reattach the boot. I tries lifting the front of the jeep too to see if I could get the different angle to "shorten" the shaft.

Anyone who has reattached? tips?

Umm, is one of the clamps still on? If so , cut it off slide the boot and replace both clamps with zipties
If its giving you a slide prob, use a flathead screwdriver inbetween the boot and shaft and spray some wd-40 between the shaft and boot.

I'll give this a try. I assumed that the rear clamp was in the right spot and did not want to cut as it looks harder to get to. I guess I was "Stretching" the boot more than trying to "Slide" to whole thing forward more.

If you get some wireman pliers and grab the nub on the clamp and twist, it'll come off. I had my whole driveshaft out when i did mine, made it easier.

Okay pre 2011 Jeepers.. Do you have the flat section shown in Yellow on your stock DS boot? I don't! and think this is why I'm not able to get it attached again. Now what?

It's determined that I'm missing a couple of inches, on my F. Driveshaft boot that is.... I'm going without obviously. Will report back if anything happens.
