Default Front End Shimmy

Bought a new 2012 Rubicon Unlimited and installed a Terraflex Budget Boost of 2.5 inches till I decide what lift to get. Also installed AEV Pintlers and BFG KM2s in 35-12.50/17. I get a light shimmy of the steering wheel at 45 and 55 but nothing major, just a wheel movement of 1/2 inch. We have rebalanced and changed positions on the Jeep to no avail.

Is this just normal for 35 inch tires?

Probably balance still off. Also, adjusting pinion with longer front lower control arms would help as well.

A slight shimmy is normal for an aftermarket suspension and larger wheel/tire set up, no matter how high the lift is. I wouldn't adjust the pinion and control arms until you get into a higher lift. That is an unnecessary waste of money at this time.

Slight shimmy is normal? 3.5" AEV premium lift, Pintler Wheels, and 35X12.50X17 Nitto Trail Grapplers with absolutely no shimmy what so ever!!! Front end shimmy is not normal and shouldn't be accepted.

1/2" shimmy in steering wheel is not normal on any size tire or lift, IMO. Can't see how it would be good for your front end over time.

I had the same issue with a set if MTR Kevlars in the same size on a different Jeep, never could get them to behave. Switched to Toyo MT and perfectly smooth. Then put Toyos again on a 2dr JK and smooth. I think these KM2s are out of round or have lumps in them. I watched them closely on the balancer and there was nothing out of round and I checked carefully. Took up to 6oz on some but all balanced to zero.

Going to drive them to Ouray for Jeep Jamboree this week and see how they do.
