Default front shaft gone?? or another issue??

on the way home tonight I noticed a little roar when I was running about 60mph let off the gas and it seemed to quiet down, then went away at 35 when I got into town. I got under it when I got home and checked my front shaft ( which is going in for warranty replacement on friday) and there was a little play at the Tcase CV which is the one leaking grease. you think the drive shaft is the culprit or should I be checking something else out? I couldnt find anything out of place or any rubbing issues. I just dont want to drive it too much if it might be something else.
