Default Front Trac Bar Bracket Broke

It happened today 150 miles from home. It must have been cracked for a while because most of the broken part is rusty. The weld didn't break, the metal actually tore. I've never seen this before. Oh, by the way. They won't warrantee it becase it is lifted and has a riser bracket on the front trac bar for the FT lift. So now it's either but the Mopar D44 and hope it doesn't happen again, I will have it braced, or try and fix the D30 I already have. I'm a little leary of fixing it because it is my daily driver. It was a good thing I was going slow through a turn. If it happened while I was doing 80mph on the highway, I probably wouldn't be here. I took pics with my phone and will try and load them when the wife gets home as I don't know how. What a sucky day!

Pretty common. Get it welded back up and buy an adjustable track bar. Also do a search on here and you can see what other did to BEEF it up.

Ya, I was thinking of having it welded and beefed up, but the bracket it tore and I am not sure if it can be fixed. I am going to call Currie and see if they sell a bracket.

Well, I spoke with a rep from Dynatrac a little while ago and he said I could fix the axle for around $100.00. I ordered a new, stronger bracket for $22.00. He said it was the one they are using for the TJ Prorock 60's and should work on the Dana 30 JK axle because the larger diameter. I like the Idea of going to the D44. But not sure how much I will gain in strength.

I do not understand you reasoning here..........are you using this as an "excuse" to go ahead and upgrade to a Dana 44 or do you think that this wont happen on a 44? Regardless you will need to purchase a beefy riser bracket like the one Currie sells, or buy an adj trac bar. If you dont, the same thing will happen. As far as gaining strength from a 30 to a 44 - do a search and you will find that there is a large gain.

I am just going by what the Dynatrac rep said about the strength. He also told me Prorocks front and rear for the JK are about 12k. I know the D44 would have to be strengthened as well. In the end it just came down to money on hand. I could get the D44, but it would be tight. I am not knocking it, just explaining how my shitty day turned out yesterday. I figureed $20. for the bracket will get me back on the road in a couple of days. It will take a week to get the axle from the dealer. I priced it yesterday at $1479. Even though that is a great price, it is just a little steep for me right now. But today is a new day, so I will probably shange my mind 5 more times.

2" BB dont come with t-bar relocation brackets...........the relocation bracket is the culprit here.

Gotcha, I think you made the right decision. In the mean time, save up for those pro-rocks

Yeah, SDMF, drop some pics on here. I'd like to see. The stock brackets leave a lot to be desired, riser brackets or not, they are small and look weak.

Eddie (W-o-Life), did you beef your front bracket up? I know you're running an adjustable track bar... but did you beef the factory bracket up too? Eddie wheel's the heck out of his... so i'd be curious to see what he's done to his 3" FT Lift.
