No, I don'rt think he has done anything to his. Of course, I have been wrong before,..... ...once.

We are running front and rear adjustable track bars, and nope, we haven't beefed up our factory brackets. We keep checking them, but so far they look fine

How many miles did you have on this lift before the bracket gave way?

How much have you wheeled it? How hard?

I have only wheeled twice, and not very hard. I live in florida, so a couple of light trails. No mud. Pain in the ass to clean, and you almost always break something. I only have 16000 miles on it. I am leaning towards the D44, Just didn't want to rush into anything as I was pissed off for most of the day yeasterday. I rented a trailer and am going to pick it up from the dealer tommorrow. I am in Tampa, it is in Daytona Beach. If I do get the D44, I will probably put the Dynatrac bracket on it. The reason I went with Dynatrac over Currie is Dyna answered the phone. Not a knock on Currie at all. It was just nice to be able to speak with someone who knows about axles as the dealer sure as hell didn't! This is my daily driver for work so I have to make sure I get it fixed right the first time. I would tend to think it is just cheap construction from Dana, I have never seen metal tear like this. I have seen welds break before, but the mount is actually torn in half.

Seems odd that it tore in half. One guy on the forum had his tear in half but I think it was finally determined that he mounted it incorrectly. I think he mounted it in front of the bracket only using one hole. The back hole was still in tact.

Yep that would be me...except for the guy part. Mine tore off as well, but it in fact was installed wrong; still can't figured what kind of bonehead moment I must have had. Anyway, I had a new plate welded on and so far it has been good.

All I know is I will be picking it up tommorrow. Once I get her home, then I will make my plan to fix it. I will be getting an adjustable trac bar begining of next week and it will fix that paticular problem. As far as the axle. I am still undesided. The wife is on my case pretty hard right now. If I cheap out, I will regret it later. If I get the D44, I will regret it forever. Gota love the "till DEATH do us part thing".

It should be "Till Dana 44 do we part"!
