Default FT 2" BB update

I haven't seen this posted yet, so...

I just recieved a new FT 2" BB. The Trac Bar Relocation Bracket seems to have been changed. Not only have they clearly strengthend it, but it appears that they have moved the location of the trac bar mount hole. Looks like it would be a lot more in-line with the original track bar mount hole. I'd think that this will help with the FT bump steer issue, by improving on the track bar geometry a bit.

My JK had fairly bad forward rake, so I ended up doing a 1.75" Daystar front spacer lift, and no lift at the rear. I have 33 X 12.5 tires, and at full flex my rear tires rub a little. I'll do a small bump stop extension on the back and call it good. Jeep looks nice and level now. I'll post pics soon.

BTW, I'll be selling the FT kit on ebay.

Double sided, should be much stronger.

Track bar holes are almost "in-line" now.

I have this kit, I'll have to say after reading some of the tread's on the 2" BB I'm a little reluctant to do this.

I am installing this as we speak.. what exactly to the front bump stop extensions do, and are they necessary? I think I have seen some kits w/o them.

Also.. my Jeep sits fairly level with just the fronts on.. is there a downside to just running the 2" front w/o installing the rear with 33's?

How long did it take you to do the front?

I'm interested in this too. It's my opinion that the tracking of my JK is a bit better without the rear spacers.

I believe that the bump stop extension prevent you from over compressing (damaging) the springs. If you have longer shocks, they would stop from damaging the shocks also.

Did you need to adjust the steering wheel ? I think if I do mine this weekend I will start with the front....I don't have the rake I hear so much about but I will have to see what just doing the front looks like. Also I can take the back spacers to work and turn it down 3/4's of an inch or so if the front looks to high.

yeah.. I am going to do my steering tomorrow.
If you don't.. you end up with esp problems.. hell I get it without turning my steering wheel.

I am going to measure everything out tomorrow evening and see if I really need to install the rear.

Good luck, I'll be curious as to how it all went.

That looks the same as my 3" lift bracket that I am not using because of bump steer. I believe the reason it causes that is by raising the hole up it changes the angle of the track bar. Try it with, try it without, see which way you like it. Mine came off after my first day with it on.

I went with the adj track bar eventually. Was also glad I did after reading Caligirls problem with the rear Axle mounted relocation bracket.
