Fuel saver superchips tune
Is anyone running the "fuel saver tune" in the superchips? If so, what are you thoughts on it? Did it really save fuel? What were your before and after MPG?
From what I understand from others who have it is that when you take it bac kto the dealer for repairs you MUST, MUST, MUST return it to factory tune. Otherwise if they flash the computer while there your tune will be locked to the old info. There have been no issues that I have read about returning it to factory and taking it in under warranty.
I have had to take our JK in for service and as long as you flash it back to stock before you take it in you will be just fine. If you forget and you take it in when they plug in the Star Scan they will immediately flash it to stock settings. Then you will have to pay Superchips $100.00 to re-activate your Flashpaq.
I heard gas saver tune runs slow and underpowered. I got mine and went right for the 93 tune. The gas milage really doesn't interest me. I don't drive my jeep enough to need the extra few mpg more I'd get to lose my drivability

I tried it and I was NOT impressed. It definitely took all the fun out of driving the JK. It made it feel like it was pulling a anchor behind the JK. I didn't run it long enough to see if there was any fuel savings. (It kinda pissed me off and made me not want to drive the JK)
let me first start out by saying I'm 41 and drive like an old man. My previous 'sports' car was a corolla, and before that a 3/4 ton suburban on 35's. So, fast and zippy are relative.
On my JK I did the superchips econo tune about a week after I stepped up to 35" tires. I really liked the change and feel the Jeep is, perhaps, even more zippy than it was before. But, I may now be more prone to fast starts just to try it out. Overall happy with it, give it a try. If you don't like it, you spend another five minutes to flash it to something else. In my mind, starting low, gives you additions tunes to go to once you do more to the jeep. If you just right up to the 92 (93?) tune, where do you go from there?

I have to say the Superchip is a must on the JK. The improvement over stock can't be beat no matter what tune you put in I've tried them all. I'm running 33's and using the fuel economy setting. The power difference and the cost of gas for 93 to 87octane. Doesn't make sense to me I.M.O. and I wheel the hell out ofine in that mode.
