Fuel saver superchips tune
From what I understand from others who have it is that when you take it bac kto the dealer for repairs you MUST, MUST, MUST return it to factory tune. Otherwise if they flash the computer while there your tune will be locked to the old info. There have been no issues that I have read about returning it to factory and taking it in under warranty.
I've been running the fuel saver tune for about a year. MPG are 1.5 to 2 better than stock, and I can get 21 (Calculated by hand, the computer says 23mpg), on level ground at 65mph without a headwind (6 spd manual Rubicon Unlimited). The Superchips tune is much more agressive on the fuel lean out and timing trims. It will still deliver power when you need it, but it will take about 15-20 minutes of steady speed non stop and go to lean back out to the economy settings again after you mash the go pedal hard once. In city driving, you won't see much in terms of gains, and the felt power it not down at all from the Superchips 87 tune, even the throttle response is the same and still better than stock. It all depends on how hard you mash the pedal, you still have power if you want it. But drive it easy in the city, and get up on the hiway and you'll see a noticeable difference over stock economy.
First post here folks, so go easy.
Can anyone answer whether a Superchip is really worthwhile on a 6 speed? A lot of the benefits I hear about seem to be related to changing the shift points on an auto trans. If we take that out of the equation, what else is there?
I'm using the forum phone app, BTW, so I can't tell what the OP has . . . .

I am about halfway through a tank in mileage mode. My guess is that I am getting about 2 mph more than in the 87 mode. I do all city driving and estimate about 13 MPG on the half tank I have used so far. I will probably go to 87 next just to check it out.

I've tried all settings, giving each at least 2 tanks.
93 Oct does give you the best power, and less MPG's (it is hard not to throttle up once you see the difference).
91 Is a little better than 87 and stock, same MPG's
No differnece in MPG's on the Milage tune.
Now the TOW tune has been giving me approx 1.5 MPG's in city driving, and feels as powerfull as the 93 Oct Tune.
So I've been running Tow for a few months now.
