Question Full-Time 4wd?

How hard would it be to covert an '09 Rubi to full time 4wd?
Just a new front diff and/or new t-case too? I'd love to keep it in 4 all the time and just lock the front diff when needed in 4Lo.

I'm guessing the front diff would need to be really open to pull it off safely? Would love to keep the stock T-case if at all possible for crawl ratio and cost reasons.

Interesting concept for a JK,
I had a cj7 that was full time 4 wheel drive. The gas mileage was terrible though. Why do you want full time 4 wheel drive?
Good luck with the conversion.

There may be other changes required such as PCM programming, but the principal would be the transfer case.

For full time 4WD (the old school term) , the TC needs to provide differential functionality (slip) for a much larger set of conditions, such as when all wheels have full traction (road) but the vehicle is turning and braking.

Easy conversion. Just move the lever that is next to the gear shift to 4HI. The gear ratio for 4HI is the same as 2wd.

Easy conversion until you destroy your JK.

All joking aside you would need a way for to disconnect the front from being locked to the rear. This is usually done with some type of center differential which would mean completely redesigning the drivetrain.

need a center differential to pull this off, then you can have AWD
