I basically have no idea what I'm doing in this department, so I've got an appointment on Thursday with a reputable 4x4 shop to have them check everything out before I hop in it on Monday to drive from SF to Tucson

All in all, it's driveable, but I would really like to dial things in to get the "better than stock" ride that everyone claims with the ultimate kit. I'll see what happens on Thursday and make sure I debrief to understand what they actually adjusted (since I left the uppers stock length going in).
you went the wrong way with your adj. arms. the 4x shop should be able to dial it in right for you.

Just a guess. But thats probley your problem.. I had some wondering issues with my ulitmate kit, thats was ultimately the problem. I had to adjust my control arms. If you dont have them the exact same lenth it'll also pull you left or right.

Doh! I was wondering about that. My very scientific method involved making little parallelogram motions with my fingers trying to figure out the effect of dropping the axle 3" -- not surprising then that I got it wrong

I am pretty sure you are way shallow on the caster if you left your uppers the stock length. I am guessing they need to be shorter than stock. I have my uppers as short as they go because I don't have the lowers yet. Basically, if your springs and shocks are off your bump stops should hit right in the middle. I guess another way to tell if you have enough caster is you steering wheel should snap back to center after make a slow turn.

Mine will be here on thursday, but I have little to no knowledge on how to install it, so I am paying a professional to do it for me. I figure my life is at stake and I would rather put it in the hands of someone who knows what they doing. I'll let you know how it goes

Could you post the length of your arms (from the center of each hole)? That would help give me some comparison when I get my adjustables. Thanks
