Default Full Traction CRC – first impression

The Full Traction CRC system has been installed on my 2012 4-Door Rubi a month and a half ago.

It does exactly what it is supposed to do – it eliminates the sideways movement of the back axle. The result is better and more accurate steering.

A few factors combine to make our Jeeps' directional stability "not exemplary".
At highway speeds, for instance, more frequent steering corrections are needed, compared to SUV's.

After installing 35" (315x70x17) tires and 4" lift, the directional stability of my Rubi became worse.
The CRC not only improved the directional stability, it is better now than the stock Rubi when it had 31.5" tires and no lift.
This shows that out of the factors that spoil directional stability, the radius arm was the main contributor.

I can clearly feel the steering improvement at road speeds of about 30~40+ mph on bad roads, at about 45+ mph on good roads, at turns (especially frequent turns), and off road at any speed above crawling. The bumpier the trail gets, the stronger the CRC effect becomes.

I consider the CRC to be the best mod I did, next to the larger wheels and lift, for improving the over-all quality of the Jeep.

Others' experience with the CRC would be interesting.

Well…

I hoped for some feedback on how the CRC behaves at various off road conditions…

Looks like a great system. Is it compatible with any size lift?

With my 4" lift it works fine.
I've seen it recommended for 4", 3" and even 2" as minimum.
I'd check with the Full Traction representative on the Forum.

Thanks, I like the concept of not having to use the rear track bar and the stability/handling it provides. Also curious to see what the other members' first hand experience is with this set-up....

Default Anyone else tried the CRC?

I would love to be able to chime in with some input but unfortunately I am looking to hear more feedback before taking the plunge. I have a 2012 JKU Rubi and it is my first Jeep in over 15 years. Last one was a Grand Cherokee that worked great. Can't say the same thing about the JK. Works good for a lot of things but daily driving it is sub-par. The side to side jiggle and constant steering corrections makes it tiresome. I honestly expected a better drive. But the JKUs are so versatile that I love em and want to get it right. Sounds like the OP has had good luck with the CRC kit.

My driving is so cal, lots of freeway and lots of faster dirt roads. I find that at medium speeds that side to side movement is really dramatic. Has anyone tried the CRC on higher speed desert terrain? Wondering how it will hold up to serious abuse like Baja too.
