Full Width Front Bumper VS Stubby Bumper
I have 33 inch tires and a 2 inch lift. I want to upgrade my bumper to one that I will add a winch brush gaurd and AC lights.
is there an advantage over the other or is it just looks? Pictures welcome
Any brands that are better over others?

I really prefer the look of stubby bumpers but the only reason I'll probably go with full width is because of the extra protection. I've seen pictures of a few front corner accidents and the full width has the advantage, I like taking road trips so I'll feel better with the protection. I talked to one guy recently who had an accident at the front passengers corner with a full width and he really felt that if he had the stubby he would not have been able to drive home because the impact would have gone to the tire/suspension on that side.
Pretty much all of us goes through this decision making process. I went with a Rugged Ridge XHD, because it is modular and allows you to run either stubby or full width. You can check it out at:

Your stock bumper is full width and you can add a winch, brush guard and lights...but, take another look at the protection if offers. Everything past the frame rails is just plastic. An aftermarket stubby bumper with a plastic milk jug at each end will offer at least as much protection.
do you think the RR xhd would stand up well in a side collision due to its modular design? would this make it less solid compared to let's say the aev bumper?

As far as offroad advantage stubby is the way to go better approaches angles and things of that nature I also have a 2" bb with 33.s and im waiting for my order to come in for my stubby conversion caps for my stock bumper I think it will look good but im not a fan of full length...and as said before you can get just about everything out there to mount on to your stock bumper as you could get spending 2000 dollars on a aftermarket one but all and,all it does come down to your preference ill post some pics when my kit comes in and I get it all done
Good luck
