Default Gascap light????

Ok so I hook my jeep up to a code reader comes back with Gascap and it's lit up Gascap on the dash. So I mess with the Gascap and stuff and it will not go off. Any suggestions?

Most likely has to do with your EVAP canister and the ESIM (evaporative system integrity module) attached to it. If the ESIM is faulty/broken, or the EVAP canister is - it will throw the gascap light.

Could it be something as simple as your gas cap needing replacement?

Did you take the cap off and look at the seal inside? Does it look like it's in good shape?

You didn't mention what year your JK is or how many miles you have on it. Mine's an 07 and at about 30,000 miles I got an evap system trouble code and all it took was replacing the gas cap with a new one.

My advise, start with the simple stuff before you dig any deeper in to it.

Could this be the problem? There is a cracked missing part on the front of the white plastic

Yes that is probably the issue. The location sucks. I covered mine with silicone after epoxying it back together and Zip tying it back under my Jeep
