Default Gear change question

Hey guys, Im putting a rubi 44 front axle and front JE 1310 driveshaft under my X, the 44 already has 5.13 gears installed, I was wondering if I would be alright to install the axle with the new driveshaft and drive it a couple miles to my local shop for them to install 5.13 gears in the rear. im pretty sure it would be fine if im not in 4Hi but id rather ask than destroy brand new gears. Thx for the help

Although I don't think I would do anything unless you were in 4wd not worth finding out the hard way

The front driveshaft will free-spin as you drive, but as long as you are 2wd it'll be fine. But as others have mentioned, the safer option is to wait to install it.
